Standing in solidarity with Ukraine

As the events of the past week have unfolded, we have watched in disbelief and horror. What seemed a distant threat has become a reality. In times like this, it is easy to become overwhelmed, not knowing where to look or what to do. We are championing and supporting the efforts on three initiatives, working tirelessly on the crisis in Ukrainian, not ot mention the impressive, important work in other parts of the world.

#CookForUkraine

Inspired by #CookForSyria and founded by a team of chefs, including Olia Hercules, Alissa Timoshkina, and Zuza Zak, #CookForUkraine is an initiative harnessing the collective power of the food world to raise awareness and raise funds needed to aid children & families in Ukraine who have been displaced by the current situation.

Médecins Sans Frontières

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was founded in 1971 in France by a group of doctors and journalists in the wake of war and famine in Biafra, Nigeria. Their aim was to establish an independent organisation that focuses on delivering emergency medicine aid quickly, effectively and impartially.

In Ukraine, they are stepping up our response, working to rapidly scale up the medical and humanitarian response in various parts of the country, hardest hit by the conflict. Experienced emergency and specialist medical staff are entering Ukraine, and will continue to arrive to support MSF teams already there.

Disasters Emergency Committee

When large-scale disasters hit countries without the capacity to respond, the DEC brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently. Together, they efficiently and effectively reach people in urgent need, providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines, as well as supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities; supporting fire fighters and civil protection units; educating people on the risks of explosives; and repairing vital infrastructure, to name a few.
