Her sessions are focused on educating you about how your body works whilst providing you with a 'tool kit' of movements and exercises that enable you to take responsibility for your own health and wellbeing. Caz truly believes that we can all have the right to live pain free through education, empowerment and responsibility.

What are the Gravity Techniques?

Gravity Techniques are easy to follow movements in standing, laying and sitting that help to relax and rebalance your body.

Originally, they were designed to alleviate chronic joint pain whilst switching off any stressors in your nervous system. They are perfect for back pain, hip, knee & shoulder pain and stiff joints as well as many other niggles and nags caused by our daily life activities.

I’m not flexible, is it for me?

Gravity Techniques are simple, natural movements designed to be accessible for everyone regardless of their ability or medical history.

Is it a workout?

For your mind, yes. You will come away with new skills for moving well. For your body, no. It’s deeply relaxing and restorative.

What am I going to get from it?

We are born with a blueprint in our brain to move effortlessly retain a balanced state. Over time, in response to daily life activities we introduce habitual and compensatory movement patterns which our brains think are useful. And at time, they may be.

However, some patterns can cause your body to become restricted and we experience a loss of range of movement, shoulders and hips are prime examples. The Gravity Techniques are designed to help you identify and clear down movement patterns that have outlived their usefulness and install a new ‘programme’ that restores you back to that original blueprint.

Aches and pains are reduced, stiffness in the muscles and tightness in the joints is also affected positively.

Are you going to make me touch my toes?!

Absolutely not! Unless that’s your natural range of movement and is easy for you. There is nothing in The Gravity Technique that will hurt you or make you feel uncomfortable.

Does it involve making crazy shapes?

No. We’ll leave that to the Yogi’s. Gravity Technique is focused on functional movement that is beneficial for your body. Caz is interested in you being able to get up and down stairs and empty the dishwasher easily rather than getting your feet behind your head.

What’s the difference between Gravity Technique & Yoga or Pilates?

Whilst Gravity Technique has its roots firmly placed in Yoga and then in Pilates, Tai Chi and Chi Gong; the emphasis here is not on a ‘cookie cutter’ approach to exercises and is an evolution from these ancient modalities translated into modern life.

You body is as unique to you as your fingerprint and the movements shared in this workshop are tailored to you and your specific needs.

Do I need balance?

No, we have walls if you feel wobbly.

Do I need to get on and off the floor?

If you can, great! For everything else, we have chairs. Caz feels very strongly about The Gravity Technique being inclusive and accessible for all.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

If you have a yoga/ Pilates Mat, great! If not, a blanket or towel is perfectly adequate.

What do I wear?

Whatever you feel most comfortable to move about in. Loose, soft and make sure you’re warm enough.

I have high blood pressure. Can I still participate?

Absolutely, there are no movements in this workshop that will affect high or low blood pressure. If you have a serious condition that is being managed, speak with Caz beforehand or consult your Dr for advice.
