A Stay in Pear Tree Cottage

AT THYME

As the sweeping driveway leads you through the historic countryside to an abundance of honey-coloured stone, Thyme’s ‘Village Within A Village’ greets you with open arms. The only way to describe its first impression is an overwhelming sense of awe and wonder, stepping into a fairy-tale and leaving the stresses and strains of real life at the door. From the award-winning courtyard garden to the taste sensation of the Ox Barn restaurant, this magical place is never ending, with new (but really very old) corners to explore wherever you turn.

The latest chapter in the story of Thyme is their glorious one-bedroom cottage situated in the heart of Southrop village.

Behind the typical Cotswold green front door, you will find something which heart-warmingly resembles the essence of a home. Whether it be for two nights or three, immersing yourself in Cotswold village life is what Pear Tree cottage is all about. Hang up your Barbour, kick off your Hunters and pour yourself a glass of Thyme’s very own Vermouth because things are about to get very cosy!

Pear Tree cottage is decorated with a variety of Thyme’s very own collection of patterned upholstery fabrics. Bertioli is the sibling brand of Thyme which focuses on connecting our world to the flourishing nature found within this magnificent estate. Caryn Hibbert, Thyme’s founder, has worked hard to capture the botanicals that grow across the rolling Cotswold hills and Pear Tree has been enveloped with these charming designs.

The bright and airy hallway leads into a buttercup yellow masterpiece. The sitting room and study embrace this delightful flower and the rich tones inject a warming atmosphere throughout the house. Ascending the staircase, you are met with a pop of pink, albeit soft and mellow, which enhances the sumptuous bedroom space. A walk-in wardrobe, separated by the opulent Bertioli curtaining, and a free standing rolltop bath at the end of the super-king size bed both add an extra level of luxury to this period cottage.

With all the facilities of Thyme just a stone’s throw away, this romantic hideaway delivers the best of both worlds: quintessential Cotswold living nestled within the magic of Thyme.
