Patterns of Nature: Water Meadow collection

Our water meadows at Thyme are the flood plains of the River Leach - a chalk stream, flowing through the Cotswolds landscape and into the River Thames. Covering 40 acres of land, we manage this space for nature.  These meadowlands have a rich tapestry of wild grasses and flowers, as well as phenomenal birdlife, insects and mammals.

Rivermint, Yellow Iris, Willow and Buttercup are all botanicals that thrive in this wetland habitat, each playing an important part in this glorious ecosystem. Using fabrics and wallpapers from Bertioli’s new Water Meadow collection, each pattern has been created using water colour paintings by founder Caryn Hibbert.

“Our water meadow collection is rooted in the wild water meadows at Thyme immersing you in this very special place. My water colour paintings depict the plants that grow there such as willow, wild river mint, sedge grasses and yellow flag iris. Together they create patterns that tell stories of nature that embrace my love of traditional English country house style and our way of living.”

- Caryn Hibbert

The carefully observed botanicals create patterns that are evocative of the wild and, together with Bertioli’s signature Water Meadow scent, create interiors that are calming, nurturing and beautiful.
